Background:

To sharpen my Enlan EL02, I took off the thumbstuds. It has loctite, so a bit of heat (boiling water) and using 2 pliers, it's off.

After sharpening, I put them back, but only using finger strength. It fit back all right. The reason is that so when I need to touch up, I don't have to hunt for pliers, i.e. on the go.

Now, after some use & carry, when I took it off, there were some rust spot on the blade (not the stud) along the 'outer rim' where the studs meet the handle. It seems some moisture or sweat might get trapped there.

Question: do you ever find this issue on yours?
Granted, 8Cr13MoV is less rust resistant compared to Victorinox steel, and perhaps the blade finish also counts (satin vs mirrrir).
Is tightening back using plier going to prevent moisture trapped between the blade & studs?
Anyone found studs also gets in the way on sharpening freehand on stones?
