Rust on my Izula!!!

A couple of weeks ago I "lost" my Izula and just recently found it in my front yard. There was some rust on the blade but I was able to take it off by using my Sharpmaker. My question is there is some rust where it says Rowen, Izula, on the ant and the eagle, what can I use to remove the rust without removing the paint? Any help is appreciated, thanks!

i'd go to a hardware store or an auto parts store and look for a "rust converter".

these will convert the rust to a tough black finish.

READ THE DIRECTIONS to make sure there are no warnings about getting it on paint or other finishes.

brake fluid is good for removing rust, but it's hell on paint. don't know what it does to powder coat.

Depending on home deep the rust is. Try toothpaste.

You could also go to an auto parts store and get a fiberglass scratch pen. They're used to remove rust from scratches in auto paint before it's repainted.

bar keepers friend: http://www.barkeepersfriend.com. here, i couldn't find it in home depot but lowes has it. i had rust on the serial # of my esee-4 (from kayaking) and took it right off. bar keepers friend is good for cleaning the sharpmaker rods too. for stubborn rust, make it into a paste, let it stand for a few minutes and then rub it before rinsing.

I second this 100%!!! Bed bath and beyond stocks it in all their stores.

 +1 on that. i use it to clean all kinds of stuff. takes rust off pretty well.

I lost my Izula I last night as well. Now who is going to keep my Izula II company? Curse you black blades!

It's good that you found yours though! :D
