Rust pitting on 110

[AR fan]

Has anyone had problems in the past with the 440C blades rust pitting. One of my 110's,(a 2 dot), has a blade that requires oil to keep the rust in check. None of my other ones have this problem. Did Buck get a bad batch of blade material back then, opinions anyone?

Other than a lot of sweat, or exposure to sea water.....I don't see how that would happen. I have a 1968 110 that's been through a lot and no signs of a problem.

Must be a bad batch.

I use a 2 dot 110 out on the sea regularly,no signs of rust anywhere,but i also wipe down the blades with a tuf-cloth or sheath rust preventative when i know i'm going near salt water.You may need to just give the whole knif a soak in mineral oil,then clean it up and it should fair well.
