I recently removed the coating from my Becker BK2 and now the blade starts to rust when I don't use it for a few days. Anyone have any suggestions or recommendations on how I could permanently solve this problem?
This is what happens when you remove the coating due to it is a carbon steel. You can have two options with keeping it oiled. First if you are going to use it for food prep use a food safe oil like mineral oil. Second if you are not worried about the blade touching food, you can use WD-40 or Rem oil or anything like that. Or you can let a natural patina set in that will protect the blade from deep rust.
