What oil/lube should I use on my ESEE Izula to make sure that is doesn't rust?
I am going to order an ESEE Izula and I am worrying about it rusting. Even though the rust prone 1095 carbon steel blade is powder coated I still worry about the edge rusting. I am a relatively new knife enthusiast and need a good oil that is food safe and will keep my Izula rust free. I will use it on all of my knives, not just the Izula. All recommendations are welcomed and GREATLY appreciated, thanks in advance!

When you cut with the knife, any potential corrosion is scraped off. I really wouldn't worry about it. Keep your knife clean and dry and that is pretty much all there is to it.

I've been researching since I posted, and came across Balistol. Any experience with it?

I keep food grade mineral oil by my kitchen sink. It works to protect and lubricate knives, is safe for blades, handle slabs, and mechanisms. Anything else is less available or more expensive, although many suggestions like Ballistol are definitely good for the job.
