Will,
I just got my new EDC in 154cm from 1sks delivered on 8/1/01 along with two other knives. I gave it an initial inspection and then put it in my gun safe to waite it's turn for fun and some daily carry(sorry the other two knives got in the carry rotation first, I tend to like a little larger knife best like 3.5 to 4 inch blades hint, hint). Well, yesterday when I went to call it in from the bullpen to carry, I noticed that there was rust forming ONLY ON THE LETTERS on the blade were it says CUDA Every Day Carry D RALPH DESIGN. the discoloration is most visible on the U and the A of CUDA and on the EV of Every. A couple points here: one, when I did the initial inspection I used the little tuff-cloth sample 1sks was so nice to include on all three new knives, two, it's only been 2 weeks, three , it's never touched anything but it's box and the tuff-cloth, and finally, I live in Utah which is a desert climate. I don't know if you have had other reports of this rust only on the blade lettering or not but having given you the facts, my question is: should I return it to 1sks or to Camillus?
Well I guess I should have bought the talonite but I don't like the two tone look of the gold clip and screws as well as the all grey version.
Thanks for helping Will, this EDC is really a sweet little knife and I want get this fixed so I can put it in the rotation. I think this is the perfect travel knife: sub 3 inch blade and plain edge so it should be legal just about everywhere, frame lock makes it 100% trust worthy in that dept. and at a price that if it were to get lost while traveling it won't bust your budget replacing it with a new one.You guys and DDR really did a great job with the design, fit and finish, and pricing of this knife.
