I'm not affiliated with this product in any way.

I've been doing gunsmithing and refinishing for quite awhile now and one of the things I hate to deal with is RUST. I've tried a lot of different methods, chemicals, etc. Most of them had drawbacks though. They either stink, caustic, flammable, etc.

I read about Evapo-Rust on another forum a few months back and it kinda stuck in my head.

I was in Wal-Mart the other night and they had a smaller bottle of it. Probably around 20 oz for 6 bucks. It's non-toxic, biodegradable, no fumes, works fast, and it's even re-usable till it turns black. Available in the small bottle, gallon, 55 gal, and I believe I read that it's MIL-SPEC now. The stuff impressed the heck out of me.

I'm slowly but surely getting into knifemaking and I have been reading all of your tips for months now. Along with everything else I can get my hands on. I've spoken to a couple of local knifemakers and they have graciously invited me over to their shops. I really appreciated that. Now that the holidays are over I'm gonna have to take them up on that offer. I've been buying hammers and other various tools trying to get geared up. The forge is about the only thing that is holding me back at the moment. I'm going with a horizontal gas forge and I'm building (trying to, it will be a group effort by myself and friends and family).

I appreciate all of you offering your hard earned/learned tips so generously. I just thought I'd do the same.

Thanks

No I didn't find it in the paint section. Check in tools and automotive. It's hard to say because this particular Wal-Mart had stuff pushed a little out of the regular order because of Christmas items. It's in a dark blue bottle shaped like an antifreeze jug, white cap. Oh and by the way it's 32oz for the small bottle, I just checked.
