Hey all, I just received a Strider SMF with stonewashed cpm154. It looks like there are a few small rust spots inside the thumb hole and in the valleys of the jimping. Would flitz take care of this or is there a better option? I have froglube, eezox, ballistol, flitz and Slip2000 at my disposal. Thanks!

I get rust spots constantly on my stonewashed 154cm Emerson's. I use CLP for firearms and a nylon bristled "AP" brush and it works great. If that fails, 2000 or 3000 grit wet/dry sandpaper will clean it up but risks marring the finish if that matters to you.

Flitz should take care of it without a problem

I would recommend a pencil eraser first also. If it works it is probably the safest to preserve the finish.

Have same knife in same configuration and I had the same problem. I used marine tuf-cloth on it to remove the rust and it hasn't come back since, but it's also important to not I reapply it whenever i use my SMF hard.

Thanks for all the help guys! I ended up just using q-tips and froglube. Got all the spots out and after I heated the blade up good before applying more froglube over the entire thing
