rust spots (Help)

Hey All,

I know this is going to be a foolish question as I should know the answer but my mind has a complete blank. What was the name of the stuff we used at the cutlery to remove the small rust spots on a blade? :confused:

I remember the scotchbrite pads but I thought there was an oil or something we used too??
 
Don't know about the cutlery but for the mildest rust try Flitz. 0000 steel wool with some oil works well also.You might try Naval Jelly for light rust also. More serious rust calls for re- polishing with various grits.
