G’day I am working on a review for my Spartan George v-14 Black dagger. I dropped it in a puddle of water but picked it up straight away and wiped it dry, my question is even though the steel is s35vn tungsten coated is there a chance rust cold have formed from water trapped between the handle slabs? I’d remove and check but I do not have the tools. Cheers guys.

I have a similar issue. I have a Busse Fat ASH I use very hard and keep in the trunk for utility. I just checked it and it has rust around the scales between the tang and the scales. The ASH does not have removable scales. I wonder if I should soak the whole knife in vinegar in hopes of getting a patina under the scales?
Or should I soak it in rubbing alcohol and then in CorrosionX?

I hate rust It’s a constant battle brother! I’m deathly afraid of rust on my knives and it can keep me awake at night thinking rust is forming on one of my safe queens. That sucks about your Busse I hope you sort it out those things look amazing and are hard to get in my country.

The only sure way is to get the scales removed clean the tang then refit the scales with glue to seal it.

I’ve read up on old threads and it appears busse’s that people customised as competition choppers discovered the handles are not epoxied.

Hmmm - sure looked like residual epoxy on those scales. If it wasn't, I don't think I want to know what it was....
