I am sure this has been covered before, but I got a Comp Hell Razor. I love the knife and man it is sharp. But I was camping, and it rained, and of course it doesnt stop me from enjoying myself. Man I have never seen a knife rust so easily and fast. I care for my blade, I use tuf clothes. My question is what can be done? Will patinaing the balde help, bead blasting, and last resort I know this would be a sacralig putting a coat on the blade. Any input good or bad would be great.

Yep. It seems like any of the comp. blades rust fairly easy.

No problem though... I used my comp. sarsquatch last weekend in the rain building a shelter. Dug holes, batoned, and at one point I unintentionaly left it in the grass during the rain storm. Next morning ther were a lot of rust spotting in the infi dimples. I used a 3m scotch brite pad and the blade was back to perfect in less than a minute.
Applying oil to the blade before use never hurts either.

Or. you can always put a full satin finish on the entire blade instead of getting it recoated. Satin infi is pretty rust resistant for the most part.

It's the finish. A raw finish like that is even worse for corrosion resistance than a bead-blasted finish. A mirror polish would be best - there's a reason why kukries are polished to a mirror sheen. I would give those CEs a satin finish at the least. That will help. And some mineral oil, and you shouldn't have any trouble. Besides, rust isn't dangerous. As long as you don't let it pit, it'll come off, and doesn't affect performance. Flitz....

Thanks for the input. I am not concerned it will affect the performance. I was just surprised on how easily it rusted. How do you go about doing a sation finish. With a buffing wheel or what.

You might also try letting it rust a bit then clean off as a cycle.

You may find that after a cycle or two that the knife then stops rusting after the part that rusts easily is gone.

Back in 1999 to 2002 I left an uncleaned, un oiled, but coated Steel Heart II in a truck toolbox for a couple years with no rusting, the uncoated handle got darker grey but ni rust formed.

I drove the truck all over the US in all sorts of weather, I put over 200,000 miles on the truck in that time, the toolbox was one of those aluminium in the bad toolboxes.

The comp finish of the metal (or unfinsh :p) is kinda rough/pourous. The smoother/finer the finish, the lesser the foothold for rust. Just to keep in mind :). I have no corrosion problems with my uncoated knives, but that's because I've polished them I'm sure. The only corrosion I get is right up against the scales in that crack and the inside of the talon holes. No worries. I also added a little bit of a patina to one with vinegar. Takes a while thoguh with little result but I think it probably helps a little. Again, it won't take very readily. A2 takes the same patina if you splash some vinegar quickly before immediately washing it off that INFI takes after like a day :p

I use renaissance wax on all my stripped blades, no problem with rust except on the edge.

That's just a thin layer of decarburized steel left after the HT. I have it on my self-comp finished FBM too. It's a little thinner than a sheet of notebook paper but extremely wear resistant and about 100x more prone to rust than infi normally is. I have played hell trying to get it all off, but after half a dozen scrubbings with a drill mounted scotchbrite wheel I'm only starting to see peeks of bright shiny infi through the layer.
