so I just just got my First JK the other day, Urban hawk, which I LOVE!!!. but I have a small problem. the humidity where I live is quite high and I am already noticing some rust starting to for on my new baby  I wiped it down once with a tuff cloth. How do you guys who live in humid areas deal with the rust on you JKs? I'll post some pics in a little

Get yourself a good patina on that thing, force it if you have to with some apple cider vinegar. That should cut down a lot of the rust issues from humidity, did for me at least.

as for rust.....I clean them with my fire arms once a month. Museum wax is foremost in my kit for carbon steel blades.

gets pretty humid here, especially at the moment, I just use wd40 on the stuff that's not getting used but you have to keep it up pretty well and doesn't taste good if you use it on food, mostly I try and get a patina on them asap. thanks for asking the question, i was thinking about this the other day and now have some other things to try. :)

Renaissance Wax or WD40 are what I use.
Renwax for long term protection & WD40 for frequently used knives like my JKs.
I like the car wax idea John, people have been using it on guns for a long time & it's much cheaper than Renwax.
But then I've only used about 1/3rd of the little 65ml can of Renwax in three years.
Like the car wax I imagine,a little goes a long way.

I just try to keep a little oil on my knives at all times. its usually >75% humidity around here daily, so sometimes i just force a patina. that works pretty well. if rust does accumulate on the blade, i just use some fine grit sandpaper to get it off.
