Just fiddling with some more ideas on power hammer designs, took some ideas from the new kinyon, the rusty and others and came up with the Rusty Compact
Excuse my poor paint program modeling but I hope you get the gist of it. Just a thought for the past couple weeks, input appreciated. I'll probably not build it anytime soon, just thought someone might like it or get some ideas from it. Ram is tube in a tube and the "die" setup is similar to the japanese spring hammer with the crowned round face and flat lower die block (could easily work into it to have tire hammer die setup). Easy to scrounge up the bits for this, could get the straight length of spring with the eye in one end from a spring shop cheap, big section of tubing for the upright column. I didn't model it in but you add a couple doors in the tube column to access the turnbuckle and grease the pitman. Tire hammer clutch, could use a slack belt too. Any questions about the cruddy drawing.
