Kinda funny how I've never read about this phenomenon on bladeforums. Last I heard getting a tetanus shot was painful. But maybe the author thinks one gets extra street cred points for taking a big intra muscular needle in the arm. Lol.

What?? You don't carry a horribly oxidized slip joint for street cred? Ahh man.. You're gonna lose major rep!

Haha, yeah.. People are dumb. That's the answer for 50% of all questions in life.

CNN being off the mark on topics they don't care to research? Color me shocked.

I'm carrying a CRK Mnandi today. Other days I carry a rough rider slippie nodded by Glennbad with a highly rust resistant 440a blade. I'm wondering what "set" I'm repping for carrying those edc's around.

The knife pictured is a Schrade Old Timer with the name on the shield blanked out. My very first knives were US-made, carbon steel Schrades (including Old Timers), and it didn't take much at all for them to develop rust spots. Usually it would begin after only a day or two of pocket carry. If you neglect them, they become rusty pocketknives. Doesn't take any 'street cred' for that.

All my street cred comes from wearing the same underwear that I wore as a Boy Scout 30 years ago. It balances out my lack of street cred from having a well-maintained pocket knife.

:D :( :D  Wish I has said it! Very funny and more apt than that BS being touted .

Upgrade to some pricey Duluth Trading Company undies so you can feel as though your bits are cradled by the wings of an angel.

Properly maintained tools > street cred

Now that '79 Ford Pinto rusting in my front yard = art, not a tool.

Yeah, but that rust colored streak in your underoos won't do you any favors as far as street cred is concerned. Wrong kinda rust....

Rust doesn't have anything to do with Tetanus actually...Lol.
That's an old myth. It's caused by a bacterial infection.

But back on topic, that rusty blade makes the owner look to me like an idiot. Maybe that's "street cred", as most folks who claim to have it have that something in common...
