First off I want to thank Gin for getting this to me so quickly and for going the extra mile so to speak to help Mary, and Yangdu. Good people are a rare breed and I feel fortunate to meet so many good people here! :)
I must say that this Chainpure is even nicer in person. I sort of polished the wood and brass and steel then used a toothbrush with mineral oil to clean up the detail work on the sheath and handle. This khuk is a wonderful example of woodwork and steel in conjunction to make a great khuk. This is one of those khuks that is pure weapon. From the fine point and agile handling, it screams that it is here to protect life and limb. I do not know if Rusty put the awe inspiring convex edge on this or not, but with light stropping it was paper slicing sharp! I love this khuk!!
I feel lucky to be able to find such a nice khukuri to keep as a rememberance of our brother Rusty. This khukuri has come home to stay. :D

I was wondering if anyone recognized the markings on the blade? I can not seem to place them. They do not seem to be HI or GH. Anyone have a clue? It is of nice quality. Blade finish is not as high polished as HI, but very well done none the less. It seems that I have a khuk from a third maker, that I do not know of. Cool.

It's an HI, Shop 1. I have a couple of knives from Shop 1 with these stamped HI initials. The convex bevel most likely came with the knife, as both Shop 1 knives I had true convex bevels.
