Great looking pix as usual. I've always wondered how those were tempered. Any chance you will ever etch it?
Rusty was quite fond of that sword and now I see why.

Thorough tempered, not differential. of all the things, i can't believe i've forgotten which steel Del Tin uses. Guess I've been indulging in the knife world lately!
 
I think that they used one of the Krupp steels out of Germany, but like you I can not remember which one. :o I used to be able to remember things! :confused:
 
Funny, but sometimes, out of the blue, I'll just sit here and miss the rascal. Strong bond. Part of aging, I guess.
 
Satori, nope not sharp but you can make them sharp if you wanted

Yvsa, the Del Tins come with a clear lacquer to protect the blade and fittings thus making it rust free, a little bit of paint thinner and elbow grease will remove the lacquer but then you need to keep the blade and fittings oiled or waxed to keep from rusting...it is staying the way Rusty had it
