I finally got down to St. Marys to look in on Rusty this evening. He's fixed (nailed together as Rusty put it when I asked) and it looks like things went off without a hitch for which I'm very thankful.

Rusty said thanks to all and one of the very few things he enjoyed while hospitalized was reading the threads from the forum that I printed out for him.

He'll be back to his old duties very shortly and he sends special thanks to Harry for filling in.

I guess Rusty will have to take over recovery updates himself.

Many thanks all for prayers and well wishes. Rusty is convinced they helped.

Going home also means leaving hospital food behind - very good news.
I've been told twice, by two very competent surgeons, that they were a bit surprised to be talking to me after the recovery room bit was over. Both times, I'd received get-well cards from prayer groups from various churches, to which my friends at work belonged.
I am not competent to discuss (let alone argue) comparative religion on any level. I do know that all of those considered "major" promote the power of prayer, and I consider myself "been there, done that" qualified. It works! Now, we need to figure out how to get the itching powder out of his cast, and he'll be all ready to recuperate

That's good news, Uncle. Glad everything went well and without complications. Also glad to hear the threads helped. When all you can do is write well-wishes, it can seem like you aren't doing much. So it's good to know you actually can help.
