Refractory Cement

This refractory cement is the ideal sealant for masonry-to-masonry joints under 1/4" thick. It is a ready mixed mortar that can be used for setting, coating or resurfacing fire brick, but used extensively as the mortar between fire bricks when building fireplace fireboxes. It must be heat cured, after which it can withstand 2000° F temperatures. It cures to a buff color. Technical Information:

has anyone ever tried this
 
Rick Barrett uses it on his blades.

If you look closely at this picture from his website, he is putting Rutland cement on a sword blade prior to hardening it.

i think he has the furnace cement its black the one i am talking about is the same color as fire brick i am making a forge out of brick and was going to use this to hold it together
