I just thought i'd share some pics of a little necker i just finished up ready for HT. I thoroughly enjoyed making this one. I know when im onto something when i just cant stop working on it. I kind of wish i took some progress pics now because of the fun i had making it.

Steel - 2.5mm (finished around 2.3mm) RWL-34
OAL - 137mm
Cutting edge - 67mm
Heat Treat - Sending away to Hills HT
Grind - full flat, chisel. Well sort of its kind of con-vexed to get the edge the same thickness.

Expect to see this on the exchange as one of my first sales as a knife maker in the next two weeks.

Pics!

Tim,
Nice work buddy! I like it. Very cool little design. Your spine jimping continues to impress me. It always looks really even. You are doing it by hand with a checkering file if I remember correctly, right?

One question, how did you counter sink the smaller oval shaped hole? By hand? It looks really clean:thumbup:

Keep us posted

Thanks jonny. Yep the checking file makes jimping super easy. I countersunk the oval using a round stone in the dremel. Then cleaned it up with a small round file, sandpaper and a lot of patience. The big oval was the time consuming part; trying to get it even.

Interesting design, reminds me of an Izula. Good looking knife, sir. That jimping is pretty stellar.

Nice design, It looks like it will be a nice lightweight carry, great steel choice as well (gotta love AKC)

It's funny how you can copy things without knowing they exist.

Another knife maker pointed this strider out to me. There's obvious differences (like the price tag) but still, pretty damn similar.

Tim,

I reckon yours is heaps better mate. It seems to flow nicely. Good one!

It sort of reminds me of half of a pair of large scissors.
