What is the black border around the Rosewod scale? Rubber bumper collision protector, frame for beautiful artistic scale, unexplained shadow noticed by paranormal investigators, traction for your butter fingers or something I have somehow not imagined?

The black, and it looks like it is three dimensional stuff and not just black paint, does highlight the red resin-impregnated scales in a good way. Very attractive looking flipper. It has my interest.

I remember admiring this one in the pdf catalog, so I had to look again.

The pdf catalog says it is molded nylon with cnf contoured rosewood dymondwood inlay
