Okay, I've got a Steve Ryan Model 1 on the way to me. Should be here tomorrowish. It's minty. It's my friggin' Dream Knife. I'll post pix as soon as it arrives. Plenty of them.

So who else has a Ryan, and are they as good as everyone says? Let's see some pix, guys!

Hey Eric,

Whassup!!!!!!!! Got a Ryan M-1 and a M-4.They are awesome knives. You will love it. It is like a real fantasy user all the way. Way cool grind lines and solid lock up. Can't wait the other knives I have on order comes. Let me know how you like it. Talk to u later.

Liong:) :D ;) :p   :o :)

Hey, thanks Liong! I had heard that you were making everyone jealous at Blade with your Ryans. Isn't that what Ryans are for?? :)

Man, I can't remember ever anticipating a blade this badly. Thanks for convincing me that the Ryans are all they're cracked up to be.

Will you be at Blade West next month, Liong?

I couldn't wait to get rid of mine (and not just to witness the feeding frenzy) but what do I know, right? I owned it for 6 hours and sold it in 6 minutes. Off centre, sticking lock, covered in shop dust and old grease. I got the zig zag handles and the thing was a bitch to get out of the pocket in any kind of hurry. The (chisel) grind was well done though. I would consider a model 4 but am not in a hurry to talk to Steve again.

Yes, that was a cool spectacle, like the opening battle scene in Gladiator. I don't think you could have bad-mouthed the knife much more without being rude, and it still went like a rocket!

But then again, you are just a simple stagehand ;)

Ouch

Eric, I took some pictures of Donald's collection at Blade, but I'm embarrassed to say that somehow, I know not how, I let Liong's get away before pictures could be taken. I'm still kicking myself.

I'll dig up the pictures.

Here is my lowly recurve Neck Knife.

Eric,

No, no more moula for Blade Show West. I gotta save up for the other 10 Ryans I have on order. This is the new habit. Donald aka NoWhere Fast is the man with the Ryans. Email him. He got the one of a kinds that u don't often see.

John, I guess I will bring them again next year. Or you could ask Oliver(Chindit) for the pics. I bet he got a few by now. Later.

Liong

But got an offer that I couldn't refuse and had to sell it. I still miss it. You won't be dissapointed, they are bad a$$ knives that are hazardous to all biological material! :)

My Model 1 arrived in pristine condition from Steve and the lock does not stick although the tolerances are tight. I could not find a single thing wrong. Other than Steve's lack of communication at the present time, I have no problems with his knives! The are really too big for pocket carry pieces and I do agree that the handle designs while cool looking would slow deployment from a pocket carry. I believe that Steve is the vanguard of fighting knife design and is going and doing things not done by any other makers. Waiting for my Model 7 Lt Wt. - Dick
