I have been playing with the idea of making my first folder for a few years now. I had the opportunity to spend some time with Eric Ochs in his shop in Oregon a few weeks ago and am very happy with the results.

I wanted to convert one of my most useful (IMO) fixed blade models called the Saddleback Wharnie into my first folder..

I will save you the WIP photos (they can be found in a thread in my personal forum if you are interested). This is the finished Prototype, there are a few changes in the works. This one I left with the Ti scales but future builds will have various materials (Carbon Fiber, G10, etc...) on the presentation side.

That turned out awesome!!! Thanks for sharing. I really like the curves on this one.

that's brilliant.
I know a lot of sailors who would love to have that in their pocket.

Damn Ryan W that's some clean machinery.

It's really nice. Would love to see one with wood overlays. Question tho- the thumb stud placement seems unusual...how does it affect the opening?

Thanks for the post spyken... I will be doing a few in multiple configurations in the near future, definitely will have some wood overlays. Here is a quick video showing it in action. Let me know if you have any questions.

that's slick, bro!

I have finished SaddleBack (#001)... This one is Sold but hope to make a few more ;)

I will have it with me at the Blade Show, If you are there grab me and ask to have a look at it! Comments appreciated!

Can't make it to Blade, so I'll ask here. What's the base price going to be on these? And in the thread on your subforum you mentioned the possibility of a flipper version, is that still in the pipeline? I've enjoyed watching this come together. This one with the Hamon is extra nice in my opinion!
