I got this necker from Ryan and, since it is my first knife from a fellow knifemaker, it's going on the wall and won't see actual use. Hence the « Impressions » title instead of « Review ».
What I want to talk about is the design of this knife. As some of you might know, I focus a lot on the visual aspect of the knives I make. Maybe too much but that's for another discussion.
I knew that visually, I liked the knife very much. And that's saying even more for me when talking necker, cause this is not a type of knife I am crazy about. There is not much you can do with a simple necker to make it interesting but I think Ryan did just enough to make it so. And when I received it and first held it in my hand I knew right away that he did this without making sacrificing ergonomics. Not an easy thing to do. As I said, I haven't used it extensively but it just fits perfectly in the hand and I have absolutely no doubts that it would be very comfortable to use.
If he can do simple and interesting, I can't wait to see where he takes more complicated designs in the future.
