My comment is "beautiful!" I like the shape, like seeing how it came together. I think I'd like the blade a bit bigger, but only because I like em blade heavy. the handle I'm interested in feeling in my hand, I have a knife with a curved piece of antler for handle, even more extreme than this, and LOVE the way it feels in my hand, I'm wondering if this one would feel as good. Thanks for posting the pics!

That looks beautiful, Ryan. Great hamon on that one, too!

Personal preference - I would have put the two micarta pins in the middle of the handle, but that's just me.

Thanks Red, I agree with you on the heavy blade. I would have gone bigger and Will on the next one, as you stated this was a way for me to get a feeling of the handle and it feels great. almost has two hand positions, choked up for cutting and on the butt for Chopping which puts more weight forward. I tapered the tang quite a bit to get the balance right.
Nice work mate! I really like the shape of that. Great execution!
Thanks Mate! Wish we were having your weather right about now...

Ted, Are you talking middle from spine to edge or butt to guard? The angle of that photo makes the pins look messed up. Here is a better photo for pin placement

I can't wait to see the next one then! that's what I like about the rear handle position, with a bigger blade it makes good for a chop motion let the weight do the work. choke up and do some fine cutting. wonderful.

I finished up the sheath, thought this one out a little bit (Maybe too much). I have decided to keep this one and put the sheath and the knife through the paces.

I like wearing a Dangler Sheath when wearing a backpack with a waist strap, but hate them any other time. So I made this so it could be converted to a Belt sheath

The Antler tip was laying around so I used it to allow the lanyard to wrap to prevent losing the knife when it is a concern.

Thanks for your comments so far.

There's a lot to like about this... Love the colors and dividers and lines of the handle, nice hammon, nice lineson the blade. Good looking sheath, but what takes the cake is that convertible belt loop. I haven't seen that before, and I think that is too cool. Really nice package over all!

I would have placed the back micarta pin in the middle (spine to edge)

That sheath really complements the knife exquisitely!

Thanks Cody, I have seen something similar on revolver holsters that my grandfather had. That is where I got the idea from, On the next one I will make the sheath wider just above where is snaps around so that it can't slide up the sheath when on your belt.

The pins are centered, it doesn't look like it due to the handle shaping and angle of the photos. Note to self drop the pins a little bit on the next one to avoid the optical problems. I think S.R. Johnson's DVD talks about this problem.

Mate were in our "9th heatwave for the summer" apparently. Heatwave equals 3 days over 32. We have had 6 out of the last 7 over 37 and the next few meant to be the same. Tried to get a few hours in the shop today but its to damn hot!

That sheath is awesome! Been following your camp wip. Looking tops!

Thanks Matt, thanks for following.
I remember those days there, You are right I don't want that. Weather here is just right now (What a difference a few days make).

That is a beautiful blade. Love the shape.
Thanks Blue did you check out her big brother I just finished up?
