Reluctantly, I purchased one. I was very speptical how it would perform. This one has the lithium battery, cost119 dollars at home depot. I chose
Ryobi because I have other tools for that battery. I didnt want another gas machine or have to lug a 100ft power cord so I took a chance.

I did not wear eye protection because I didnt think it would be powerful enough to warrant it. After a few seconds I retrieved the goggles. This thing works good. I have a half acre lot with a house, few trees ,and a shed. Trimmed it all quickly and on one charge. I doubt it will cut woody vines and thick weeds but for trimming the grass away this is a competent machine.

Hi,

Thanks for the write up. I've got a YardStik brand 18V trimmer. I like the light weight handiness too. If mine dies, I'll look for a Ryobi, I've got a drill and saw from them.

Is it a Li-ion? I have black and decker that uses Ni-Cd and while it works good, doesn't last long or keep a charge.

Its the green one that uses the lithiun battery. The battery alone is a hundred bucks.

Thank you. I just reread your initial post and saw that you mentioned what battery it was. That's a big DUH on my part, sorry. :o
