I have a friend who has a South African made Aviator with the hex head pommel he is interested in selling, and I am thinking of buying, but I have no idea what would be a fair price. It is in good shape.

Any suggestions on a fair offer?

Thanks

I meant to respond, but was hoping someone might chime in as I'm not too familiar with the fixed blade line.
I know the S.A. made knives are usually desired for collector value and sometimes fetch more.
If the knife comes complete in box with birthcard etc., a fair price might be in the $400-600 range I would think.
Hope I'm not too far off.

I wasn't sure if discussing prices was frowned on? I sent a pm but I'm pretty close price wise to you Lisa. I reckon a regular non numbered US version is about $400-450. A SA version around 500-650 depending on condition, paperwork, box and #. As always a lot depends on the market on a given day..........

Thanks Lisa and Nick. I've gotten a few answers to my question and each mirrors the others. I'll go with that, and close the thread to let it go.
