S.A.T. Life Expectancy?

I asked a similar question a while back about how long the Kershaw SpeedSafe system should last.

How long will the S.A.T. mechanism last with normal use? I realize this will vary among people because of the differences in "normal" use. Many companies say that their assisted openers will last around 10,000 openings. I use mine about 3 or 4 times a day, so a knife that's supposed to last 10,000 uses will last me around 6 years. How does the Sog assisted opening mechanism compare?

It lasts forever. Booyah. lol

I'm just messing with ya. I have no idea. I'm sure Chris will be along shortly to answer.

I asked the same question. They said that it's covered under the warranty. so yeah, forever lol

I wonder if it'll last longer if we keep the blades open when we store it so there is less tension on the spring

The spring on the SAT systems should last the lifetime of the knife, which I would say is something like 10+ years. But should you ever have a problem with the spring you can send it in and we can replace it, most likely under warranty.

If I tighten the screw on the Trident (to prevent blade play) a little, will it void my warranty? Thanks.
