Hiya, Trooper! There is a good reason that the Camillus and the Schrade look the same.. they were probably both made in the Camillus factory the same time. Perhaps the same day. Albert Baer controlled both factorys for a while, and they have a long history together.

I have the same knife. Based on the woodgrain box, I think it is pre-84, but one of the guys with catalogs will be along to give a better answer. By the way, on the white outer sleeve of my knife's box, there is the stamped number YA-857. Your's have that?

Here's one of my oldest and most favorite old Schrade Cuts (Walden) an electrician's knife. Fun to hand to people with the screwdriver blade open and ask them to close it. You must first push down on the closed knife blade. Model 2042SD, ebony handles. 1930-1948 is as near as I can pin down the date. As these were real working knives, it always surprises me to find one in this good a shape, and that goes for both our newer 204s.
