Here is one I just finished. It is 1095/Wrought san-mai. Wrought fittings with a stabilized redwood burl handle. I would really appreciate any critique as this knife was pretty far out of my comfort zone. It is my first s-guard and first time attempting a handle that stands a little proud of the fittings. That sure isn't easy. The knife has a few points that really bother me, but I will keep them to myself until I hear what you all have to say.
I am giving this knife to a co-worker of mine that I worked with for the last 6 years. He was my manager, but I am moving on (same company) to manage a site myself. He is a cool guy and over the span of 6 years, I can't think of a time we had any sort of run-in or disagreement. Pretty rare so I figured I better make him a big ol knife.
Anyway, I would really appreciate critique and if you don't like it, please tell me. Trust me, I can take it. Thanks for looking.

Mike That is very cool. That is some nice wrought you got there i love the way it flows onto the 1095 like a well placed hamon.

Nice looking knife. Not sure about the hump(?) in the top of the handle . It may be more comfortable in the hand than it looks. What equipment do you use to keep 1095 in center? Power hammer, or?

I use a power hammer, but struggle to keep things centered. Handle shaping is probably the hardest part of the process for me. By "hump", do you mean at the top of the heel of the handle or in the middle? I should get a straight on pic of just the handle as that is an area I would specifically like suggestions with. It is pretty comfortable, but just doesn't look quite right to me either.

Thank you all for the comments.

I really like the handle, I am sure it feels really nice in the hand. I recently made a handle that was a bit off, I had to tone it down and liked it much better "Visually" Nice work on the San Mai!

your knife has a real rustic charm to it and the san mai construction is something I dig. Even the divots in your wrought look natural and nice.
Your handle design has a lethal look to it and no doubt would aid one's effort in killin a man. Hopefully it never gets used that way, but that handle just begs for a good stabbin'.

Mike, considering my level of experience I think you made an outstanding knife! I appreciate every detail!
