This is probably the last knife I will have time to finish for the upcoming OKCA show.
This is a big boy with a 13" blade and an OAL of about 18.75". The blade is W2 with a polished hamon.
The handle is some gorgeous natural Sambar stag, and the fitting are blued mild steel.
I made a deerskin lined blade sheath, with a custom matching belt stud.
These were the best pics I could take in my little light tent, It wasn't easy to shoot!
Let me know what you guys think.

Wow, that beveled ricasso is cool!

Thanks a bunch guys! I decided to not worry about selling a bunch of small knives at the show this year, and focus on bringing a handful of the best knives I have ever made.

The beveled Ricasso was the first thing that grabbed my eye! I don't recall seeing one before, or maybe just forgot if I did, but I love it! You wouldn't be TOO upset with me if i "borrowed" that little design element from you one day would you? ;) Great knife!

Knock yourself out Michael, I am sure I am not the first person to do that. Although I haven't seen it before.
I would love to see what you come up with!

I just added a pict of your bowie to my collection. Very nice execution and that ricasso is sick...(in the good way) :)

Ben......Your knocking them out of the park!!! Cant wait to see your table! That ricasso caught my eye instantly, and i had to sit back in my chair and take it in.
Greg

I really like the long sleek look you achieved with your blade profile and clip. Well executed hamon, the sheath goes well with the knife. I'm not a big fan of the beveled ricasso or your guard tip treatment. Just personnel preference, nice BIG Bowie overall.:thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks for the comments guys. I wanted to try some different things on this one, and overall I am pretty happy with how it turned out.

My absolute favorite of yours to date Ben! I really like where you are going with these knives.

Thats nice Ben its hard to add to what has been said what I like is how you took a almost straight pice of stag and made it look very nice that is a a hard one to pull off and you did it very well nice job.

Thanks gents, I have been having fun stretching my limits a bit on these last few knives.
David, is a fantastic piece of stag, but is fairly straight. I angled it down as much as possible, to match the sweep of the blade.
I forgot to mention, the balance point is right at the front of the ricasso.

Very much the type of knife that appeals to me. Correct length!

Cheers....Pete
