Anybody ever handle a Cold Steel Shinobu folder? Better yet, anybody wanna get rid of one? :D...How did ya like it, and what's my best bet for finding one?

Great knife, the best folder Cold Steel ever made IMHO. The "thermouron" scales are a pleasure to have in the hand, lock is as stout and rock solid as they come. Had the americanized tanto tip professionally reworked to a more traditional tanto tip. Great knife! Check the for sale forums, one might show up there. Got mine back in the day before the one handed folders ruled and it is still as strong as they day I got it.

Still have mine. Bought in the mid-80s.

Thick blade, but keeps its edge well. Handles well, nice and grippy (which can be a problem). Also, the grip will wear.

The sheaths that came with these is very nice. A horizontal carry, works well for behind the back carry.

Don't put it through a car hood. It will make it, but the lock on mine has never worked right since (must have angled it or twisted it).

Had one and carried it everyday for several years. Then, one side of the scales fell off. I called CS and they offered to replace the tanto design with their clip point blade design. They were out of the tanto blade version. I went ahead and did the exchange, but wished I hadn't afterward. The scale could have been expoxyed back on the liner I suppose.

Anyway, strong lock and the knife is thin and easy to carry. I still have the clip point version somewhere, but carry Spyderco's mostly now.

No more to be found on eBay...is anybody willing to sell one? Clip-point, tanto, any size---if you have no more use for it, I'll buy it for a reasonable amount. It'd make a great addition to my collection.
