This just came in today, and I've been CE and CF it since. Several photos and measurements and here it is.
Schatt & Morgan Series I #041811 Single Blade Trapper, 1991 issue
Deeply swedged and sabre ground long pull clip blade with barehead antique brown jigged scales and Queen Steel.
Mark side
Pile side
Yes, the pile side scale is ever so slightly lighter than the front. I like the large, deep jigging and threaded bolster.
In-hand shot
This slender beauty is a sixteenth over 4 inches long closed, with the blade edge a sixteenth under 3 inches, tip to notch.
The pull is a good 6 or 7, and she snaps closed like a gator. The blade sits perfect center when closed, and the backspring is flush open, closed and at half-stop.
The only things which would differentiate this from a custom made folder are the tumble polished blade and the spine,
which sits .021" below the backspring at open (measured with a depth micrometer).
All considered, I think this little 1-blade is as nice as any of the new GEC offerings, and that's saying a lot!
