Hey Guys,

I do not have a store near me that sells these axes, can someone tell me about them and there differences?

Thanks,

G

I can't speak about S&N's. I can tell you that from what I've experienced the quality of Wetterlings vary greatly from axe to axe. I received a 13" model from Bens Backwoods and the quality was excellent. A day later the handle cracked without any use. Ben replaced it for me immediately. The 2nd one I received had a smaller diameter handle and the sheath didn't fit very well.

S&N are drop forged and i believe are chinese stock IIRC, wetterlings are handforged and are of swedish stock.

ive never handled any.....im looking for an axe/hatchet too...i know brian andrews MIGHT have some mod'd ones left.

wolffire: did it crack because of twisted grain? im interested in this failure.

awesome to hear Ben had your back on that one! great CS!

Having not seen a 'stock' S&N in person, I can't comment in this thread too much. However, Ben at Ben's Backwoods definitely does offer some great customer service. Very much a pleasure to work with.
