It turns my stomach to continue thinking about this....my tanto socfk was stolen from me while I was at the home of my best friends. One of their girlfriends had stupidly, no, beyond stupidly, picked up a hitchhiker and then brought the guy home about two months ago. Then, the three guys of the house, beyond stupidly agreed to let this hitchhiker stay on the couch for a few days. At this point the h.h'er had already told my friends that he was escaped from some sort of a home for troubled youth's or something. When he left, $40 was gone, with no other explanation. Any way, this was 2-3 months ago.
On wednesday night I went down(they live an hour south of me) to see them and we had a few beers, and were sitting in the living room hanging out. I began having some fun with the wave, enjoying my knife, and one of the guy's who lives asks to hold it, so I let him. Then it's passed to the second guy who lives there. Having shifted my attention to a new topic of thought/discussion, I failed to notice when the second guy to admire my knife set it down of the table instead of handing it back to me.

So then, completely randomly, the hitchhiker shows up. My friends, even after the previous theft of $40, let him in. Introduced me like he was a regular guy. Any way. One of the house mates even saw this dude playing with my knife, while I was sitting across the room. Needless to say, when I felt for my knife the next morning, it was gone. Now i'm faced with who to hold responsible. None of the housemates know a thing about this hitchhiker, not even his last name. As far as I'm concerned, the bitch who brought the hitch hiker home and the dude who set my knife on the table share the position of #2 responsibility. These were not New friends. I've known all these guys for ten years, one of then is one of my two best friends. I feel that the trust implicit in the house of good friends has been broken through thier lax security procedures. Consequently, I will not return to thier house again. I'll see my best friend elsewhere, but that was my last night at a house where deranged hitchhikers are considered perfectly acceptably company. Comments on chain of responsibility and appropriated personal responces and feelings would be appreciated...

Anyway, if anyone ever see's #153, tanto blade, it is stolen.

The only comment I have to make on the sort of person who steals other's property is that I hope a bit of summary justice ensues, and that this low-life, not knowing how the wave feature works, does himself a serious injury tying to use the blade.
