i have 2 Schrade Walden Riggers knives, one marked 735/Stainless on the pile side, the other, 735L/Stainless. both have the lever that says: "Spike release" on one side and "Press Down" on the other with a downward pointing arrow after down.
neither lock fully, both can be overcome, with slight pressure on the 735 and moderate pressure on the 735L.
not sure if blades are the same as 735 has been heavily sharpened.
as for scales, bone or delrin ? hard to say, but 735 shows shrinkage.
i'll take pics when snowing (still !) stops.
also, how firm is the spike lock intended to be ? similar to lock on an LB7, or should the Marlin Spike mechanism provide resistance, rather than a true lock ?
and finally, is there a way to tighten up a spike that has play in the open position and about 3/4" free play in closed position ? roland
