S+W Bush Hog

I have had one of these for a while now. Bought it becuase it was big and cheap, but now I'm thinking about actually using it as a camping chopper. For some reason I seem to think this blade is made out of 440c. -Is that right, and is that a good steel for this type of knife? These knives are inexpensive so I'm wondering if I need to worry about this thing breaking on me. -Thanks
