I will start this off by saying I own a Sebenza and a Bencmade framelock , and both are good knives . Neither have realy impressed me greatly . The sabenza is a wonderful knife , just overpriced , and the pinnacle is priced right , just not finished well enough.

I love the framelock , just haven't found a knife that price to product recieved seemed equal ,.... Until now . The S&W FL2 meets the price to product test , and comes out with a resounding (A) !At around $40 dollars , it is a bonifide winner .

Fit and finnish is not on par with the sebenza , but about equal with the pinnacle . It of course uses lower end material , but 440 is a pretty good performer , and for a hard work knife it is a good choice. I don't carry my sebenza because I don't want to damage a $300 knife by dropping it or roll the edge cutting something .The pinnacle just doesn't feel right to me and i have an issue with the lockup .

On the subject of lockup , I don't care for the galling feeling that Titanium gives in the framelocks . The sebenza again has one of the best lock fitting in the industry , but again the money issue just doesn't match up . The pinnacle doesn't disengage the lock well , to much pressure is needed, and on "flick" openings it travels to far over , much the way the sebenza does . The FL2 doesn't gall like the other two , the lock is VERY secure , and doesn't travel over too far on a "flick " .

The blade shape on the FL2 is my favorite of the three , I just love the spearpoint with a slight recurve . The recurve pulls the blade into the cut well , but it's still easy to sharpen , unlike the EKI Commander blade shape .

Edge geometry is good on the FL2 , again not as good as the sebenza, but good enough . It came shaving sharp out of the box and has remained so , with only a slight touch up once , it holds an edge as well as the sebenza and pinnacle (both ats-34) .

The only thing I did was dissasemble the FL2 , polished all contact points , and lube it up nice and it opens better than the pinnacle , and very near as good as the sebenza . It even has that nice harmonic "thwang" like the sebenza when it is locked open .

If you want a great using framelock that you can beat the HELL out of and not worry about about resale/collectors value but still be proud to use , do yourself a favor and pick one of these up ...

I've had mine for awhile now. It has held up very well. This knife offers a lot of bang for the buck.
