i was at the mall nearest me, when i went into the knife store to see the new stuff.

S&W is putting out a new knife that looks almost exactly like the specwar tanto. the resemblance is uncanny.

at least it did not have a wave, that would be too much copying.

You talking about the two at the bottom of this picture?

How about the new "Pardue" Benchmade?

I wonder if the people at S&W are proud that their knives adorn the pages of the "Bud K" catalog. Somehow seems appropriate. Perhaps their is some justice left in this world after all. May they be doomed to make hideous and cheap knives forever.

John - what was that Benchmade "Pardue" you were showing? Is it a new knife from BM? That's the first time I've seen it, and I'll have to admit I like the look of it. What's with the button in the handle?

That is a Benchmade 722, a newer model. The "button" you see is actually the lock/release called an "Axis Lock". The picture is from the Blade Show back in June.

Over all, it's a nice knife, just not real . . . original.

I want to comment on the S&W knives. I purchased one of the original aluminum handled SWAT knives a while back, and it was pretty cheap, but I recently got one of their baby frame locks. It is similar to the large tanto pointed folder in the middle of Mr. Hollisters picture except that it has a 2 1/2" drop point blade, and it is a very nice knife for the money ($26). I have carried it a lot, and the frame lock locks up solid and it held an edge quite well. I liked the little folder so much that I bought the medium sized version with a 3" blade too. I have to admit these two knives are at the very very low end of my collections price scale, but they hold their own as far as quality and value go. S&W should learn from these knives and make all their products in this manner and of this qualtiy.
