Im in need of a small, one handed open, lockback. Being I often lose pocket knives , inexpensive is a must. Found this knife ,S&W Little Pal ,3 inches closed and 440C stainless. Eleven bucks. Taking a chance and ordered it. Any of you ever own one?

Recieved the knife today. Its smaller than I thought it would be, very slim .Almost unnoticeable in a pocket. Wasnt very sharp, but it sharpened up well. Its hard to open with one hand because of the size, although left handed it opens easily? Its a handsome little blade, I got the black one. There is no blade wobble, and it locks with a nice distinctive click. Its advertised as 440c. Havent used it except to sharpen a pencil, which it did like a scalpel. It came with a little wrench to keep it tightened up. If you have large hands , this knife will not do . It should work all right for me and not leave a big white rubbed out spot on my jeans like my former knife.

If you like it, but there are cheaper ones out there. I'd wager the Rough Rider series does as well as that knife.

Well like all my knives I continously played with it. After three days of opnening and closing the lock no longer works. I had it sharp enough to whittle hair.

Rough Rider huh? I looked at the RoughRider and couldnt find the steel type.

Somebody made $11 profit off that $12 POS
Benchmade,Kershaw,Spyderco,SOG all have
lower priced knives in their product line that
you wouldn't be ashamed to carry.

May I recommend one of the following:

A.G. Russell 2.5 Titanium Lockback
Benchmade Benchmite II
Byrd Finch
Kershaw Chive
Spyderco Jester
Spyderco Ladybug
SOG Flash I
SOG Twitch I

These are all inexpensive folders (less than $40), that would fit your needs well.

I usually carry a medium sized folder (most often a small Sebenza) and then a small folder. The list above are the ones I rotate through for my small folder with the more expensive auto Benchmite, Spyderco Spin and Spyderco Cricket mixed in as well.

How about pointing out some of these Benchmade, Kershaw, and Spyderco knives that routinely (if at all?) sell for less than $11?

Ray :)

Edit: (Unless you meant to say that Benchmade, Kershaw, and Spyderco all have low-priced (for them) models that even though costing more would have been a better value?)
