Anyone got any experience with that M&P compact 45? I currently carry a Glock 36 which I love... but that M&P is calling to me. And the added capacity ain't bad. I never liked that 25% of the GLock 36's grip as the mag. The M&P looks to be solid in the grip area with finger plates available. Anyone got any experience with the trigger. I got my 36 down to about 3.5lbs with about a 1/8th" reset. Can the M&P trigger be worked on or imporved? Thickness is nearly the same so it shouldn't be a pig to carry. I went to the Glock 36 from an HK USP Compact 45. It was a sexy gun but to blocky and frankly I thought the trigger was terrible on the USP series. So I'm wondering if it's worth looking into the Smiths at all.

the M&P 9mm guns I've shot have all had better triggers than my G34... that being said, they have a lot of little parts in the trigger group so don't know how they will hold up as a competition gun over the long haul. Sorry I don't have any experience with the .45

I have the 9C and it is an awesome gun I would never doubt this gun to protect me. I am even thinking about the full size M&P at a later date.

from what I've heard gun dealers talk about they are worth the money, I was looking at one but I had my mind set on a another 1911....I've shot my buddies and I don't know if I can wait till next summer to buy one......

Can't offer specific feedback on the 45c, but my wife's full-size M&P9 is my favorite of the plastic fantastics. Good trigger, points well, and the grip is really comfortable. (And I'm a 1911 guy.)

We even did a back to back test against the XD and a smaller HK (forget the model); the M&P grouped better and shot more comfortably than either of the others.

Now you've got me tempted to try out the 45c for me… :)

I carry one most days in a MTAC. It's a nice piece. Very comfortable to shoot and not bad to carry. Trigger is ok but the reset is almost nonexistent. There is a kit made by Apex that lightens the trigger and makes the reset more pronounced.

I have somewhere in the neighborhood of 2500 rounds through it without a failure. Since it's a carry gun I'm pretty meticulous on maintenance though.

shot a M&P 9mm this past weekend.. i have always had a bad taste for SW semi auto pistols. they used to be hit or miss quality.. however i fell in love with the SW MP 9mm.. i mean i fell head over heels for it. hate to say it, more so than my G19. its bigger than the G19 though.. he had the threaded barrel one.. damn fine pistol. SW did a great job with that gun..
