Sweet pair bro...
686 is a great model, never should have sold the one I had. This pic may just be the inspiration I needed to get another one.;)

The Gruesome---two-some!! Both are beauts! Nice pics! (Got Milk?) I remember, Pbubsy!

Thanks guys! I think the 686 is the one gun I like just as much as the 1911. Can't go wrong with my Colt of My S&W ;). The 5'' barrel balances out MUCH nicer than the 4'' too. Worth it to find one :)

Damn!

my knife I lent you....Has a scratch!

Please send back for immediate repair...

Oh yeah. you can't....no more tan paint:eek:

send it too me and I'll be kind enough at Easter not to charge you for the damage!

Paul, that 686 is seriously sweeeeeeeeeeeeet! ...man I need one of those bad!

Jules,

It's a sweet gun, it's one of those things you never realized you needed until you handled/used one....kinda like with Busse where I was sold from the start with my first one, which happens to be the SH-e pictured.

I first shot a friends 686 and immediately NEEDED one in the same way I needed a 1911. It just sings to you...funny enough, people are always turning towards my lane at the range asking what I'm shooting....really stands out among the 9mm's 38's, 32's and 380's it seems like most people are shooting. The one downfall is that it's even more expensive to shoot than my .45 :thumbdn: wish I could put more rds through it, but I'm limited to around 250 a month :p

nice pair, i have changed all my smiths to black on black, the red front doesn't set well with me. congrats!

ps: best barrel length you can have

I agree on both  I want the gold bead front though...I think I like that one most...how do you detach it? It looks like it's held on with a pin, but the hole is empty...no pin :p Is it epoxied on?

BTW: The red sight makes it look like a fluggin cap gun :p

there's a small roll pin in there. i have a set of smith roll pin punches from brownells. easy to switch out. just order a black site from smith.

i love my desert sh-e, but the one thing i don't like is how easily the tan coating wears on choppers. after using mine for a day it already looks like it's got a recurve!

too bad busse doesn't have tan coating anymore...

I think the quality of the coating is inconsistent, I had a fbm that had tan and it wore very slowly...this one is alright, though I haven't used it too much yet...

yeah, i think the older tan coating is much smoother than the newer tan coating; i had a tan/tan heavy duty that had coating like sandpaper... needless to say i didn't get to do much chopping with that! i've had the best results with black crinkle, though.

I think the toughest coating yet was the smooth black, that stuff is STUBBORN!!!

Very nice... and my favorite 'wheel' guns have got to be S&W's...

Here's mine... including a nice 686...
