I looked out my front window this morning and what did I see? I saw the world's largest privately owned two-masted schooner.... that's what I saw.

We get a lot of big yachts in the harbour, but this is one of the biggest in a while.

Very cool! Being a sailor and living somewhat close to San Francisco Bay (~70 miles) I have seen many of the worlds biggest, fastest, expensive, cheapest, smallest, legendary yachts. But never that one! Quite the site! Thanx for the pics! Do try and get out on a dinghy and snap some pics.

Xander - Years ago, I worked as a chef aboard yachts like that. Good times, big $$'s.

I have had the chance to sail on some big money sleds, but never the luxury yachts.

I would like to try a schooner. My memories of ships consist of riding to and fro across the Pacific and the East China Sea, usually fifth deck down, fifth bunk up(in the steampipes) tied into my bunk by orders from the Captain. Loved the tenacity of those Pacific and East China Sea typhoons. Amazing stories arise from those things. I still won't take my wife on a cruise...56 yrs later. Must have made an impression on me...

NICE ! I was born and raised in Brooklyn about three blocks from the water so ships were an important part of my life. After the days of sail of course. After I'd left home they had the wonderful collection of sailing ships from around the world. They impressed even those who knew little about ships .
The first builders of skyscrapers in NYC were Norwegian sailers - easy work for those trained on those tall masted sailing ships !
