Hello guys,

I just bought a Manix 2 S110v but I got trouble to sharp this steel. I'm looking the Lansky Deluxe Knife Sharpening System but I'm not sure it could sharp s110v steel or other powder steel like CPM20V?
So have you guys got any trouble to sharp powder steel with general stone or have to use diamond stone?
Thank you for your attention.

High quality ceramic stones such as the Shapton Glass will sharpen any steel. Any "Aluminum Oxide" stone is going to fall short. I do however, use a diamond stone below 1K grit when removing material and setting the bevel angle is the goal. The Lansky kit with the diamond stones will be required for s110v steel. The standard Lansky stones will have a difficult time with any of the steels with higher levels of Vanadium, Tungsten & Cobalt.

I agree with the above. But if you just need a coarse finish up to 10 micron or #400ish, your basic stones might be alright. May take a long time to grind, though.
