The Megaladon has a .125 blade of S30V with a integeral block for the lock another .125 high and both liners are .125 thick S30V with
.094 thick G-10 scales ,one has a pocket milled to accept the block from the blade. This combination is .563 thick(not including the Lever)and weighs 8 oz(see Joe's review)Sure it could be made lighter but wouldn't the strength be compromised?

I don't know how much strength would be compromised, but with that much thickness you can make a great feeling handle.
