Is S30V blade steel better than most or just common? I'm just curious as my 0350TSST has it and she seems to hold an edge really good.

I think google is your friend on that one. There are tons of info online on s30v.

It's good, lol. In all reality though, if it's good for you, and you like it...do you need more data points?

S30V is a great steel. It was the top dog a few years back, but there are some higher end steels out at higher price points. For performance vs price, it's spectacular.

If I can get S35VN or ELMAX or M390, I'll take it... but I've never been dissatisfied with S30V.

It seems that S30V has become the most common premium steel in production right now, and for good reason. It's very stain resistant, quite tough and has great wear resistance. Of course there are newer "super steels" out there currently, but unless you push your knife to it's limits, most people wouldn't really be able to tell the difference. Of course, that's just my opinion, YMMV. For what it's worth, I have more quality knives in S30V than any other steel, and for an EDC blade, it does it's job admirably.

Thanks, I'm trying to get a set of Kryptoglow grips, but he doesn't make them for the std 0350 yet.

Actually, I do make them for the standard 0350. I'm just out of them now and will list some later this week hopefully.

Thanks, Dan
