Well, I have been looking for any Kershaw Blur to try out recently and was lucky enough to snag one in S30V over on the trade forums. Since this is my first S30V blade, I wanted to know how you guys feel the steel works for the design of the knife (in-use performance, sharpenning with the recurve in the blade, etc.). Or your thoughts on the design/steel in general. I figured i'd kill two birds with one knife:D ...try out a very popular desing with a very popular steel. should be good!:p

The Blur is a great mid duty knife and with a S30v Blade you should a lot of use between touch ups.

Mine was fine. S30V is probably the most common steel in my EDC rotation. Kershaw does a fine job with it and my Blur was excellent all the way around. May get another one soon.

I use a Sharpmaker so the recurves on Blurs and 14210s and stuff don't cause any sharpening problems for me.

The Blur is an excellent knife in any version. In my opinion, the S30V bladed model is one of the best all around of the Blurs.

With me they have been like chips. Can't stop at just one. For a while I was fortunate enough to have every version but I fell behind and stayed that way.

I haven't had any trouble sharpening it because of the slight recurve and it has had no chipping issues at around 30 degrees inclusive with moderate use. Every one I have came tight, and aligned correctly with excellent grinds right out of the box, which no longer surprises me as it's Kershaw!

I like mine a great deal and used to carry it daily. In fact today I'm packing my ZDP-189 composite Blur. Great design!

thanks for the input. i didn't really have any doubts as i have never been let down by kershaw in the past. i just wanted some opinions. and Badhammer, i think the ZDP-189 version will be next...then if i really like the knife (im sure i will) i'll get some of the cool colored ones:D

I have a green-handled s60V "blem" Blur. It's a fantastic knife. Probably my favorite edc ever. I can't comment on the s30v steel but the rest of the knife is perfect. people moan about the rubber inserts but I love them. I think it's a great size for pocket carry, it's a stout knife as well. do it!

well, i got my blur today...deffinatley lived up to my expectations! the only down side is, i already want another...just as i had expected.

Are these left handed friendly?

It's a liner lock, which means the liner is only on one side. Also, the pocket clip is righty-only. The thumbstuds are on both sides, though, and I haven't had any great difficulties closing it with my left hand. Not the most lefty-friendly knife ever, for sure.

I like my blur in ZDP 189, allthough the liner seems a tad thin but it gets the the job done. I did stop carrying it when I got my benchmade nitrous stryker tho :(

i dont think i'll stop carrying mine any time soon if ever but i'll deffinately switch between blades as i always have. the nitrous striker is a nice blade though.
