S30V Military
I have been using my S30V Military for a couple of months now. I also own 2 other Military blades, one Forum model in S60V and a normal Mil in S60V.

The Military has always been my Fav Spyderco knife and the S30V model is by far the best of the series. You cn see several improvement have been made over the years to the knife, redesigned clip to better lock up. The S30V steel is the icing on the cake. The edge holding is simply superb, no worries about toughness either. No sign or rust and it is far more straightforward to sharpen than S60V (CPM 440V) and has none of the toughness concerns.

Sal this really is the best knife you have ever made that I have been lucky enough to own. I own quite a few Spidies and I consider this to be the definitive model to own! That and the Endura!

What next? Well I have my eye on a fully serrated model...

General,

I too just looked at a current version, S30V Military recently. Wow, I said to myself. I particularly like the thicker G10 handle slabs used. I will be buying one myself very soon, even though I too own another, earlier model Military that I adore. I feel I simply "have to have" one of these technological wonders.

The Military is my all time favorite knife. I have the old 440V version, and plan to pick up a S30V version later.

EZ,

I myself didn't believe that there was very much room for improvement in the Military's design, but I think you'll agree (once you handle one) that the current version is even better than the others. The highest evolutionary form of this fantastic knife...at least I think so.

I suppose I waited till just the right time to get a Millie then.
I've eyed them for a long time, never got around to buying one. I never thought a large knife could be so easy to carry. I do love the S30v steel as well.

Thats one of the things I love so much about it,you hardly even know it is in your pocket.

I should have mine tomorrow! My local shop seems to think I asked them to get a plain edge S30V Millie in for me (I actually was just inquiring about their ordering plans for the future). In any case, if they did that for me I plan to buy it from them at their somewhat higher-than-the-web price. At least this way I get to handle it first and check it out, and support a local shop.

I can't wait to write back and rave about it to you guys.

Excitedly, Jeff/1911.

I just called, and the plain edge S30V Millie that I've been waiting for has come in. I shall go there today and look it over...with a pocket full of samoleons.:p

All you need to do now is to take out the back spacer, send it to Ron and have him install a glowring.
Or even better, buy a extra back spacer from spyderco and send it,that way you will not have anyy down time on useing your knife.

Jeff,

Sounds like a good idea. That's so you can find it in the dark, is it?

I picked up the S30V Millie just before lunch today. It is truly an impressive knife. As soon as I got back to work I was demonstrating how sharp it was and proceeded to shave the stubble from part of my cheek...after a minute or so, my buddies started to laugh as the blood began to run down my face.:o

Yep, I had opened a small fissure in my facial covering. I guess I should have been a bit more careful, considering it was "beer and burger day" at the local restaurant down the street, and I had bought us all an extra round. Well, I was excited, dontcha' know!

When I view the image above, there appears to be a brown patch on the blade this is not there in real life...it must be some effect from the scanner. Maybe one of the kids was scanning their Halloween candy and melted down a chocolate bar...
