Does any of your s30v blades develop a patina. I have seen some variation on the blade of my PM2. I don't mind, just curious.

I got my PM@ with some dark streaks on one side of he blade, i think this is a leftover of sharpening, but i cold be wrong

I've never heard of s30v developing a patina.
My sebenza (s35v) also has a "ghost" spot on it's blade that's really small but still there.
Id say it's a result of machining and/or heat treating.

Nope, Only carbon steel can develop a patina

That's not true actually.
Stainless can develop a patina as well. Not as easily as carbon but it still can and does over time.
Just depends on the amount of carbon that's in the stainless for how long it takes.

forced it.

Probably an acid or ferric chloride. On a stainless I wouldn't be surprised if that results in more of an etch than a layer of oxidation (patina).

i used muriatic acid. i cleaned the blade off, masked the pivot and lockface, and had it upright in the acid for about an hour and a half, checking periodically.
