There seems to be much debate surrounding S30V. Is it really all that it's hyped up to be, etc. Some people are complaining that Chris Reeve chose to harden his S30V blades to Rc 58-59 rather than the Rc 60-61 of his BG42 blades.
What numbers are the AR/GB S30V blades being heat treated to? Do you feel that there is an improvement (even if slight) in toughness over BG42 at the same hardness?
Just curious.

Or S30V is around 59/60 Rc.

I can't tell the difference from BG or ATS when I use it.

But I sure can when I grind it. Which is important. Because I grind more than I use. If it is harder to grind, it will hold an edge longer.
