S30V question

How would S30V steel stand up on a fixed blade that would primarily be used as a kayaking/ diving knife.

It's one of the most stain-resistant metals I've worked with, never seen it happen.

S30V with a good heat treat,sure.

I'm sure it would do just fine. Crucible now has an improved version called S35VN that would be even just finer

ats34 or 154cm would probably be a better choice
